Murder Mystery Event at Kinnersley Castle Hereford UK 27-29th March

The game is an interactive murder mystery event, with the participants (called the investigators) usually coming from a society that hunts ghosts in the 1920's. The investigators arrive, change into their costume and then play that role for the weekend. They might be a journalist hoping to get a scoop, a private detective or just a society lady looking for a fun weekend. Investigators are expected to act as the character they are playing would. Costumes can be as elaborate as as simple as you require. A straightforward suite was the casual dress for many before modern trends.

During the event, the situation normally deteriorates and the investigators are faced with a series of problems to resolve the problem (and sometimes survive).

Some take on action roles (hunting down the bad guys, finding a secret door), some focus on the social aspects, such as trying to make sense of a scared sensless witness, while others solve puzzles such translating a foreign language or cracking a coded message. Of course, some people dabble in all aspects of the event.

If you have never taken part in such an event, it is a cross between being in a stage play, the X-Files and Scooby Doo.

There are suprises and some shocks, however if of nervous disposition, you can always let others go out into the dark first.

People who have been for the first time invariable ask to come back to these unique events.
