June 2011 Peter Perla's Art of Wargaming now back in print. Classic book on how the professional use wargaming for real. Has a lot about the history of wargames and how board game development fits into professional gaming development.

May 2011: Featherstone and Robinson's Battle with Model Tanks and Featherstone's Wargamers Guide to the American War of Independence (with new chapter) now in print.
Due to the scale of the project, I have been able to negotiate some price reductions for some of the books available through the project.
April 2011: The Fletcher Pratt Naval Wargame book is now in print. Includes large amounts of previously unpublished material
March 2011 The History of Wargaming Project is trading on Sunday, 8th May 2011 in Bristol link The morning sale 10.00-2.00 is a large wargaming carboot sale. Afterwards 1.00-4.00 I am running the a WWII air attack and naval action around a convoy using the previously unpublished Fletcher Pratt rules. Involving airplanes on sticks, it is a lively and entertaining game. Visitors are welcome to join in.

24th June Sad news Paddy Griffith, wargamer, author, military historian, passed away. Paddy has done more than most to make the hobby respectable as a tool to learn about military history.

April 2010 WRG 6th Edition now back in print. This edition includes the Airfix Guide to Ancient Wargaming as an introduction to this landmark set of rules.

The History of Wargaming Project aims to collate, preserve and make available key work from the history of wargaming. It includes wargaming books from Donald Featherstone, Charlie Wesencraft, Paddy Griffith, Phil Dunn, Phil Barker, Tony Bath, Fletcher Pratt, Terry Wise, Dunn Kempf and others. The project includes hobby gaming and professional wargames played by the American Army, the British Army, the Royal Navy and the RAF (scheduled to print in 2011). The project includes previously unpublished material. The lead editor is John Curry. All work that is in copyright is produced with the agreement of the original author or their estate.
